How To: Plan a Micro Wedding in Ireland

It’s a term we’ve seen popping up during the course of the pandemic, but what exactly is it?

A micro wedding is an intimate a wedding ceremony and reception that typically includes no more than fifty guests, and often times, even less. In recent years, due to the impact of covid restrictions, Ireland saw many weddings being held with as little as six guests, and this has become somewhat of a post-pandemic trend, and it’s easy to see why, with micro-weddings generally coming up less expensive and with a more intimate atmosphere.

Here are our top tips if you’re considering planning a micro-wedding!

Determine your guest list: 

Start by creating a guest list that includes only your closest family members and friends. For many people, it can be difficult to cull your guest list when throwing a micro-wedding, but keep in mind that a smaller guest list makes for a more intimate, personalised event.

Choose a venue: 

Select a venue that can accommodate your guest list and suits the style and theme of your wedding.
